Job Summary:

The Community Support Specialist (CSS) assists, empowers, and supports members of the community, visitors, and staff of the Blakeford Senior Life community by providing administrative, clerical, and organizational support while providing excellent customer service.  The CSS is a proactive individual who is detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision and has excellent communication skills.

Schedule: 7:30 am - 6:00 pm (40-42 hrs. per week 10-hour shifts on a rotating schedule including every SATURDAY and some holidays) 

Hourly Rate: $17.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Promotes exemplary service & strives to actively support the Blakeford Community through action, collaborative work, attitude, & commitment to the values & mission of Blakeford by Providing Exemplary service, every time.
  • Promotes and maintains lines of consistent communication within the assigned program area and for the larger Blakeford Senior Life Community by providing effective and efficient customer service via phone, written communique, email, and face-to-face interactions with residents, team members, and visitors.
  • Provides clerical and administrative support with accuracy, timeliness, and consistency including request from residents and team members.
  • Promotes organizational support to the community through punctual and dependable attendance and innovation, as well as a commitment to Blakeford’s mission and service standards. Collaborates with the program administrators, the Life Enrichment & Wellness Team, and other staff to serve, empower, and uplift our community by providing compassionate, collaborative, consistent, and comprehensive support services. Interacting with co-workers, physicians, residents and all other customers in a manner which encourages harmonious working relationships, enhances the image and reputation of the facility, and promotes positive customer relations.
  • Ensures the rights, dignity and confidentiality of all residents are maintained.
  • Collaborates with the greater Blakeford Senior Life Team by providing support, empowerment, and coverage to all program areas as needed. Working within and supports the Community Support Services team to maintain the First Face of Blakeford.
  • Having a commitment to and participating in professional and personal growth through development of skills and knowledge, as well as improvement in the facility’s performance, and all other duties as assigned by the Executive Assistant.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience:

    • High school diploma or GED; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Previous experience in healthcare admissions or related administrative roles, particularly in skilled nursing or long-term care settings, preferred.
