Overview: As a Linehaul Driver, you will be responsible for transporting freight over long distances between terminals, ensuring safe and timely delivery while adhering to company policies and regulations. You will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the supply chain by transporting goods efficiently and reliably.
Responsibilities:
- Operate commercial vehicles, such as tractor-trailers or semi-trucks, in a safe and responsible manner, following all traffic laws, regulations, and company safety policies.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
- Adhere to established routes and schedules while maintaining awareness of changing road and weather conditions.
- Load and unload freight onto the truck using appropriate equipment and techniques, ensuring that cargo is properly secured and balanced to prevent shifting during transit.
- Verify the accuracy of shipping documents, including bills of lading, manifests, and delivery instructions, and ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and legibly.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, terminal managers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on delivery status, delays, or issues encountered during transit.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or maintenance issues promptly and accurately, following company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Interact professionally with customers and other individuals encountered during delivery and pickup operations, representing the company in a positive and customer-focused manner.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, concerns, and special requests promptly and courteously.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing commercial vehicle operation, including hours-of-service regulations, weight limits, and licensing requirements.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of driver logs, trip reports, and other required documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
