Requirements:

To perform effectively in this position, the employee in this position is required to have:
- Basic advocacy and prevention skills.
- Lived experience in the Child Welfare, Probation or Parole systems
- Ability to present information in a clear concise manner at community meetings
- Present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Efficiently use the personal computer to include a variety or word processing software.
- Utilize analysis, lived experience, and judgment to make decisions.
- Demonstrate commitment to team objectives and SHIELDS For Families philosophies.
- Adapt to changing needs by acquiring new skills and knowledge.
- Provides services within a culturally sensitive, ethnic informed model of practice and is respectful to the community and clients.
- Experience working with an under-served population is preferred. Have access to reliable transportation.
- This position will require the employee to attend in person community events and meetings in the South Los Angeles communities.
- This job is required to have a High School diploma or equivalent, and the ability to work with high-risk families/children, in the South Los Angeles Community
- COVID-19 vaccination required. May request medical or religious exemption if applicable.
