Under supervision of the Clinical Support Specialist Supervisor, performs work in support of those providing services to an adult population composed of persons with substance-use disorders, SMI, dual-diagnoses and/or referred persons. Responsible for providing excellent customer service, administrative and clinical support, as well as ensuring accurate and timely data collection, reporting, and electronic medical record maintenance; performs related duties as required.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greets and directs clients and visitors to appropriate staff with courtesy and respect, adhering to behavioral health ethical standards and the concepts of Lifewell’s Code of Ethics statement; complies with all safety policies and procedures in the assigned area.
  • Schedules appointments, ensures service tickets are in order, collects new client information for the electronic medical record, collects and validates insurance information.
  • Records no-show and appointment changes.
  • Receives client payments or copayments and issues receipts.
  • Compiles clinical information as requested.
  • Performs administrative tasks such as event notifications, copying, faxing, logging mail and handles external and internal telephone calls.
  • Performs insurance verifications and determines eligibility prior to the delivery of clinical services.
  • Receives information to referrals and processes referrals in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Assists in the maintenance of electronic medical records; receives, maintains and forwards medical/case records in accordance with confidentiality and security procedures.
  • Completes daily cash drawer reconciliation.
  • Assists program staff and management in collecting billing and utilization data; maintains, prepares and distributes reports according to established guidelines.
  • Prepares documentation regarding clients in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures as required.
  • Performs and maintains daily opening and closing duties at the worksite, including but not limited to disarming/arming the alarm system, unlocking/locking all doors and conducting final walk-throughs of the premises at end of the day.
  • Participates in staff meetings, trainings and other activities as required.

Performs other duties as required and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

•    A High School Diploma/GED  and a minimum of 1 year of related work experience in customer service or medical front office environment. 

•    Some assignments require a current Arizona Driver License and a current satisfactory 39-month Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

•    Must be 21 years of age

•    Minimum typing speed of 30 wpm

•    Possession of, or the ability to obtain, the following: 

  • CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card or apply for an Arizona fingerprint clearance card (Level 1) within 7 working days of assuming role.
