Description

SBG, a DSS, Inc. company, specializing in engineering, information technology, cyber-security, intelligence, and training, is looking for a hard-working results-oriented Senior ESS Program Systems Integration Engineer.  We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a positive attitude looking to join our rapidly growing company. The ideal candidate for this position is a hard-working experienced individual who can excel in a very fast-paced government contractor environment. 

 

This is an on-site role based in El Segundo, CA, requiring in-person meetings approximately 1-2 days per week.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement effective integration strategies and processes to seamlessly integrate satellite communication systems, segments (Ground, Space, Crypto, Terminals), subsystems, elements, and components. Manage technical baselines across multiple stakeholders.

  • Analyze system requirements to define and verify the technical baseline, ensuring alignment with program objectives and specifications.

  • Utilize Digital Engineering methods and modeling strategies (e.g., Digital Twins) to support integration, testing, and system performance analysis.

  • Collaborate with Government and contractor teams to resolve gaps in customer requirements, supporting major requirements reviews, design reviews, and related meetings.

  • Lead and facilitate Government/Contractor Working Group meetings, including developing briefings, guiding discussions, and documenting minutes to address and resolve risks, issues, and action items.

  • Review proposed changes to the technical baseline, evaluating impacts on enterprise capabilities and integration concerns across stakeholders.

  • Propose and deliver alternative solutions to address integration challenges, managing schedule impacts and ensuring timely delivery of products.

  • Facilitate the review of program documentation by providing feedback, compiling reviewer comments, and coordinating with contractors to resolve issues.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert to assess technical challenges and prepare briefings for U.S. Space Force program office personnel and other stakeholders, offering actionable solutions to support Government decision-making.

  • Support risk and issue management by identifying interdependencies, schedule conflicts, and developing action plans for resolution, assisting the Government in implementing selected solutions.

 

 

Qualifications

Required 

  • MS in a technical field, such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science
  • 15+ years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering
  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience leading technical teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication (oral and written), and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Due to security requirements, work is required to be on‐site in a secure facility

 

* Active Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance

Desired

  • PhD in a technical field, such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science
  • Experience with MILSATCOM, such as AEHF, EPS, WGS, and FAB-T terminal programs
  • Experience working with military or DoD civilian clients
  • Experience with ground and airborne systems, such as terminals and networks
  • Demonstrated strong Systems Engineering and Technical Leadership experience
  • Knowledge and experience in Agile Development and collaboration tools (Jira/Confluence)
