The Philadelphia Job Corps Center operated by Adams and Associates, Inc, is seeking a highly qualified Education & Training Director to manage the Academic and Career Technical Training (trades) programs at the Center.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Education & Training departments to provide effective teaching and training programs that result improvements in achievement and completion of high school diploma or equivalent, career technical training credentials (trades), and employability skills. 
  • Improve student experiences to drive student success, retention, and successful completion of the program.
  • Drive department impact to meet or exceed DOL/Company performance goals.
  • Attract, recruit, hire, train and develop, and manage a talented team of qualified educators and support staff. 
  • Motivate and manages staff to work effectively, create a supportive work environment, recognize staff accomplishments and proactively address staff performance concerns.
  • Develop Center-beneficial partnerships within the community for education, employment, Career Technical Training and WBL (work-based learning).
  • Promote a positive image of the Center and Job Corps, and establish meaningful relationships with elected officials.
  • Mentors, monitors and models the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.
  • Provides high-quality supervision and management for the student population. Takes swift and appropriate action and positively influences student behavior. Shows respect and courtesy to students and holds them accountable for their actions and behavior.
  • Provides quality programs and services for students and ensures that quality is maintained and student needs are met. Pursues improvement and enhancement of programs and services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school required.
  • Master’s degree from an accredited school preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in program management and direction with substantial experience working with youth required.
  • Experience working in Job Corps or closely related field preferred.
  • Experience in teaching or related field preferred. A valid in-State teaching certificate preferred.
  • Department of Labor approval required.
