Job Summary: Work as part of the AHR Human Resources (HR) Department team performing daily functions for assigned companies including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding and off-boarding staff, administering benefits, and leave, reviewing, tracking, documenting compliance with training and certification requirements, enforcing company policies and practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Conducts or acquires background checks, employee eligibility verifications drug testing, MVRs WorkSTEPS, e-verify, including the accurate completion of all employment related paperwork.
- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- May attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, investigation, terminations as needed.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs.
- Assist in maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Assist with assigned company’s Workers Comp program including opening claims as needed, making provider designations when appropriate, maintain files, implementing modified work assignments, and implementing incident reduction programs.
- Assist with payroll preparation for assigned companies.
- Travel as needed to assigned AHR companies to carry out assigned responsibilities.
- Other duties/projects/assignments as requested by the AHR HR Manager/Director of HR/AHR Executive Team/AHR Ownership.
Education, Skill & Work Experience Requirements:
- Two years of experience in previous Human Resources or related position required.
- Experience with Paycom strongly preferred.
- Use of excellent non-verbal, verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse variety of personalities.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, time management skill with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills with an ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Demonstrated ability to develop HR staff members while providing both positional and functional leadership.
- Thorough knowledge of employment related laws and regulations.
- Ability to ace with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Work Environment:
- Majority of time spent in an office setting.
- Some time spent walking in and around the properties where uneven surfaces exist.
- Frequent domestic travel.
