Key Responsibilities:
• Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook meals in accordance with approved menus, ensuring
that all meals are appealing, well-balanced, and meet specific dietary requirements of the
residents. Adhere to portion control standards to ensure consistency and minimize food
waste. Modify recipes as necessary to accommodate residents with special dietary needs
or restrictions, such as low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, or pureed diets. Monitor food
quality and presentation, ensuring that meals are visually appealing and appetizing.
• Kitchen Organization and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace,
following proper food handling and sanitation guidelines to ensure food safety. Ensure
that all kitchen equipment is clean and in good working order. Regularly inspect and
rotate food supplies to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage. Assist in inventory
management, including monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and receiving deliveries.
• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the dietary team to plan menus and
discuss resident feedback and preferences. Communicate effectively with residents,
taking into consideration their individual needs and preferences. Work cooperatively with
other kitchen staff, such as servers and dishwashers, to ensure smooth meal service and
overall kitchen efficiency.
