Summary
Responsible for testing and inspection of fire sprinkler systems, looking for deficiencies, troubleshooting existing conditions, reading and interpreting blueprints and manuals consistent with experience level, ability to write detailed reports regarding inspection deficiencies.

Certifications Preferred:
- VA DPOR Certified Automatic Sprinkler Inspector
- VA DPOR Backflow Prevention Device Worker
- NICET II - Inspections & Testing of Water Based Systems

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform routine inspections, testing, servicing, installing and preventative maintenance water-based systems, sprinkler systems, and/or backflow preventors.
- Read and interpret NFPA codes, FM Global codes, and AHJ codes.
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and deficiency repairs on fire protection systems.
- Complete service documentation detailing findings as needed.
- Able to coordinate between inspection deficiencies and service required to correct found deficiencies.
- Communicate with Inspections Superintendent on inspection or project delays, requirements and general status of job to ensure that the customer receives the work per proposed scope.

Additional Requirements:
Clean MVR, overtime and weekends may be required.

Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or GED; 2-3 years experience inspecting various types fire sprinkler systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and understanding of NFPA codes and standards for inspection, testing and installation.
NICET II, VA DPOR Certified Automatic Sprinkler Inspector, and VA DPOR Backflow Prevention Device Worker Certification preferred.
