Summary
As a Legal Assistant, your responsibilities include communicating with clients & other law firms, intake, fact-checking, gathering and drafting documents. You will also participate in special assignments as needed. For all of these, you will use various electronic case management software and Microsoft Office suite products.


Duties and Responsibilities
1. Handle incoming and outgoing phone calls and emails with law firm clients.
2. Organize, maintain, and obtain relevant documents as appropriate.
3. Fill out case-related confidential forms with accurate client information.
4. Keep an updated log of all client case files and interactions.
5. Complete any other task assigned by a supervisor.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) associate degree, Paralegal certification or a combination of experience with education.
• Proficiency in English (Spoken and written)
• Proficiency with computer, Windows PC, and web applications, including the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications.

Preferred Qualifications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements:
The Legal Assistant must be able to:
• Spend many hours reading documents in English through a PC;
• Bend, stoop, stand, and sit for various lengths of time;
• Lift and carry up to 10 pounds.

This is primarily a sedentary office classification and employees work in an office with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances.

Cognitive Demands:
• The Legal Assistant must be able to multi-task, working on various projects at once, while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
