Description

The Buckeye Ranch is seeking an Independent Living Specialist to join our My Place department. The Independent Living Specialist provides strength based and trauma informed case management for young adults living in the My Place Program. To monitor the living area and provide support and supervision for the total living environment in the young adult’s residence. To use a variety of skill sets to model, teach, and encourage young adults toward a positive and successful discharge from My Place into their own housing setting.

Schedule: Full-time, Non-Exempt 

  • Friday (3pm - 11pm)
  • Saturday (8am-10pm)
  • Sunday (8am - 4pm) 

What you’ll do:

  • Identify indicators of age-appropriate development in all domains for children of varying ages. Applies knowledge in all aspects of work: screening, care planning, client care, etc.
  • Assist clients in developing age-appropriate activities, behaviors, and interpersonal skills. Sets and obtains conformance to clear behavioral limits appropriate for the client's background and development.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with providers of services tailored to the needs of culturally diverse healthcare consumers and family members.
  • Supervise multiple clients in milieu settings through active engagement utilizing strength-based language in interactions.
  • Help with establishment of daily goals and follows up to assure attendance and participation in scheduled activities.
  • Provide transportation for the clients as needed.
  • Assist in planning daily, weekly, and monthly activities that will encourage young adults to become more socially interactive.
  • Intervene as needed to manage or assist in crisis situations.

Qualifications

Who you are:

  • You have a high school diploma, or GED.
  • You have at least two years of relevant experience working with youth.
  • You have an active driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
