Job Summary

Works closely with the Clubhouse Manager- Responsible for the general operation of staff functions relating to Front of the House Food and Beverage Operations. Responsible for operation of all aspects of the club in the absence of the Clubhouse Manager and performs specific tasks as requested by him/her.

Job Duties

  • Working knowledge of Club policies and guidelines as outlined Brook Hollow Golf Club’s Employee Handbook.
  • Manages all aspects of the club in the absence of the Clubhouse Manager
  • Approves staffing and general operating procedures for Food and Beverage Operations
  • Makes capital recommendations for future capital improvements
  • Monitors the budget and directs the taking of corrective action as necessary to assure that budget goals are attained.
  • Monitors internal cost control procedures
  • Coordinates training programs of Banquet and Ala Carte Staff
  • Monitors safety conditions and employees’ conformance with safety procedures
  • Maintains contact with members and helps assure maximum membership satisfaction
  • Receives, investigates and acts upon complaints from club members, guests and employees
  • Participates in on-going facility inspections throughout the club to assure that cleanliness, safety and other standards are consistently attained.
  • Serves as an ad-hoc member of appropriate club committees
  • May serve as a departmental manager in his/her absence
  • Attends management and staff meetings as scheduled
  • Undertakes special projects as requested by the Clubhouse Manager
  • Researches new products and develops an analysis of their cost/benefits
  • Oversees club operations on a daily basis
  • Reviews all accidents
  • Assures that effective orientation and training for new staff and professional development activities for experienced staff are planned and implemented
  • Inspects to ensure that all safety, sanitation, energy management, preventive maintenance and other standards are consistently met
  • Assures that all standard operating procedures for revenue and cost control are in place and consistently utilized
  • Manages the long-range staffing needs of the department
  • Establishes quantity and quality output standards for personnel in all positions within the department
  • Ensures that all legal requirements are consistently adhered to including wage and hour and federal, state and/or local laws pertaining to alcoholic beverages
  • Addresses member and guest complaints and advises the General Manager or Clubhouse Manager about appropriate corrective actions taken
  • Monitors employee dress codes according to policies and procedures
  • Audits and approves weekly payroll
  • Provides sales and labor reports as requested
  • Conducts monthly beverage inventory
  • Performs the functions of Manager on Duty (MOD) to include lockdown of the Main Clubhouse, Brook Grill and Pool
  • Records agenda and minutes of the Managers round table meetings
  • Conducts semi-annual clubwide inventory of equipment, china, silverware, and glassware

 

Special Requirements:

  • Must be able to clearly understand, verbally communicate in English and in writing with Members, guests and co-workers .
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule and/or overtime if needed.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Must work well with others as a team and help co-workers when needed.
  • Must be courteous and tactful at all times.
  • Perform other duties as requested or required.

  • Must be able to push, pull or lift up to 30lbs.
  • Independent mobility throughout the Clubhouse
