The Social Media Coordinator position is responsible for creating and managing content for Lighthouse’s various social media platforms. This content must align with Lighthouse’s brand voice, brand standards and marketing goals. The position will collaborate with the Marketing and Creative Services team members to plan, write, schedule and deliver content across multiple platforms that engage and build Lighthouse’s social media following.
 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

The fundamental responsibilities of Lighthouse’s Social Media Coordinator include:

 

  • Content Creation: Develop engaging and relevant content that resonates with the target audience. This involves researching current trends, understanding audience preferences, and utilizing various formats such as text, images, videos, and infographics to convey messages effectively. Ensure that all content aligns with brand voice/standards and marketing goals while being tailored for each specific platform to maximize reach and engagement. Most content will be reviewed by subject matter experts to ensure accuracy.
     
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that all social media initiatives are executed efficiently and on schedule. This includes planning content via a social media calendar, setting deadlines, brainstorming, creation, A/B testing, and coordinating with team members or external partners to maintain a consistent posting schedule.

 

  • Analytics and Reporting: Track performance through analytics tools (e.g., native platform insights, Google Analytics) to measure reach, engagement, and growth. Provide regular reports on social media performance and recommending improvements or adjustments to strategies based on data.

 

  • Audience Engagement: Engaging with followers by liking, commenting, and sharing relevant content to keep the community active and involved. Address both positive and negative feedback, answering questions, and managing any customer service inquiries that come through social channels. Implement strategies to increase followers and improve audience interaction over time.

 

  • Technical Proficiency: Be proficient in idea creation, writing, social media best practices, platforms, and trends. The individual should know and use Adobe Creative Suite, scheduling software, and data analytics.

 

  • Collaboration: This position will frequently collaborate on content development with internal and external stakeholders. Seek input for campaigns and gather feedback to improve our social media strategy.

 

  • Innovation and Trends: Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in social media best practices. Experiment with new styles and techniques to keep content fresh and engaging.

 

Administration: Organize and archive assets in a systematic manner for easy retrieval

Qualifications and Benefits

EDUCATION:

Required: Bachelor’s degree in videography/photography, marketing/public relations or related field is preferred. Relevant work experience and certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Social Media Coordinator must

  • At least three years of proven experience as a Social Media Coordinator.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a wide breadth of social media work.
  • Experience in planning and executing social media campaigns from concept to completion.

 

JOB-RELATED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Proficiency with Loomly software or another social media scheduling application.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and time-management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends or outside regular business hours as needed.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of current trends and advancements and techniques.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and their requirements for visual content.

 

 

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Aptitude in sound decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Strong interpersonal communication with the ability to motivate others.
  • Strong customer-service focus.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team with enthusiasm and creativity.
  • Able to attend to detail and prioritize.

 

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Medium Work: Lifting or exerting 20 to 50 pounds of weight/force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of weight/force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of weight/force constantly to move objects.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, reach and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity.
  • Must be able to travel throughout Lighthouse’s service area. 
  • When a Lighthouse vehicle is not available, use of personal vehicle is required.
  • Must be able to work regular office hours Monday-Friday.
