Responsibilities:
The Contracting Specialist will oversee the contracting workflow within Curana’s Business Development team. This role involves driving the efficient completion, negotiation, and ongoing management of contracts, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Contract Database Management: Lead the management and storage of facility agreements within the contract database, ensuring that all contracts are properly documented, easily accessible, and up to date.
- Template Management: Maintain and update contract templates to reflect operational and business needs. Collaborate with the Legal team to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while incorporating necessary business updates.
- Authority Matrix Oversight: Manage the authority matrix, keeping it current with any changes to approval processes or authority levels. Work closely with Legal to ensure that the language used meets both business and legal needs.
- Contract Negotiation: Take the lead in drafting and revising contracts based on negotiation outcomes. Guide the process of obtaining approvals from Operations, Finance, and Legal, ensuring all required input is gathered and consensus is achieved between Business Development and Operations teams. Escalate complex legal issues to the Legal team as needed.
- Training and Support: Provide training and guidance to the Business Development team on contract processes, including when and how to use specific contracts, which terms are negotiable, and how to effectively navigate the negotiating process. Ensure the team understands best practices for completing contracts efficiently and in compliance with company standards.
Qualifications:
The Contracting Specialist will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities while collaborating across teams. Ideal candidates will bring the following qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree required
- Experience: 5+ years of experience managing contracts in collaboration with Business Development teams with a proven track record of handling complex contract negotiations and workflows.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint), and experience with database management.
- Organizational Ability: Strong capability to balance and prioritize competing requests from multiple stakeholders, ensuring deadlines are met and workflows are efficient.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively with both internal teams (Operations, Finance, Legal) and external partners to ensure alignment on business, legal, and financial considerations.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all contract documents and processes.
