The clinical educator role will facilitate virtual interactive training modules. Many of these modules will be for new hire providers at Curana, but the clinical educator may participate in facilitating trainings that are not related to orientation or non-clinical modules. The clinical educator, at the discretion of their supervisor, may be requested to assist in building trainings or assist with other accountabilities on the Learning and Development team.  It is encouraged for a clinical educator to work a minimum of 8 hours per month in a local Curana facility allowing the educator to gain insights into what they are teaching other team members.  This is a new position within the Learning and Development team, and will report to our Director of Clinical Education

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead dynamic, interactive educational sessions, primarily for our medical providers at Curana
  • Identify opportunities to enhance individual training modules and the educational experience as a whole, and partner with SMEs and Learning Experience Designers to help turn ideas into reality
  • Connect and teach learners beyond the virtual classroom, including providing feedback on exercises, cases, and simulations
  • Coordinate with learning operations team members to ensure relevant learner data captured in our systems of record, including orientation checklists
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of Curana’s model of care and operational workflows which includes 8 hours of direct patient care/month
  • Actively engage in Learning and Development and Curana team meetings
  • Be a positive Curana culture ambassador
  • Comply with all Curana policies and iphold profession standards

  • Able to manage virtual educational sessions
  • Knowledge in geriatric primary care medicine
  • Experience in education/adult learning
  • Energetic communicator and facilitator
  • Supportive and patient teacher willing to meet learners where they are
  • Organized, punctual, and proactive in communications and work product
  • Resourceful and innovative problem-solving abilities
  • Self-starter, willing to pilot and experiment with new content and approaches

Requirements

  • Nurse practitioner with at least two years of clinical experience, preferably in geriatric primary care medicine
  • Unencumbered professional license
  • Degree or formal training in adult learning preferred
  • Ability to provide a professional environment free of noise and interruptions during educational sessions
  • Ability to sit or stand up to two-hour durations
  • Good internet and connectivity to support virtual learning sessions and other work-related activities
  • Live within an acceptable time travel of a Curana Facility
  • Proficient in Microsoft office

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Remote with
  • Up to 10% travel required for leadership development, team building or to attend strategy meetings and local travel for direct face to face patient care
