Job Description: Curana Health (Curana) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. This is a fully remote position. The Senior Accountant, reporting to the Corporate Controller, will occupy a highly visible position that will have an instant and ongoing impact on the development of accounting processes and the accounting team through exposure to a variety of complex accounting matters.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsibility for managing the monthly accounting close process for Corporate process areas including certain bank reconciliations, payroll, fixed, assets, leases, debt, consolidations, and other areas as needed.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly and annual consolidated financial statements in compliance with GAAP, to satisfy audit requirements.
  • Assist with preparation of reconciliations and workpapers to support the annual audit process with external auditors.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall business goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate General ledger user access reviews, new dimension set up, chart of accounts maintenance, etc., and facilitate similar review of other financial systems.
  • Provide assistance with technical accounting research and other projects as needed.
  • Assist with post-acquisition integration activities for newly acquired companies, as needed.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred.
  • At least 4 years of professional accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software Sage Intacct and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preference for remote work.
  • High level of integrity and strong attention to detail.
  • End-to-end process ownership to support finance and business partners.
  • Understanding of internal control design concepts.
  • Execute judgment to keep projects moving and ensure the right decisions are reached to close the books each month.
  • Ability to escalate risks and issues as necessary to leadership to maintain efficient and timely process execution.
  • Lead delivery of accounting tasks and projects to ensure efficient and timely accounting close process.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
