Position: Sous Chef
Reporting to: Café Manager/Head Chef
Location: Full-Time On Site- New York, NY

Role Overview:
Rose Bakery is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to operate alongside the Café Manager/ Head Chef and support the café operations in their absence. The ideal candidate will utilize both culinary expertise and management abilities to significantly contribute to elevating and sustaining customer satisfaction levels. This individual will be responsible for assisting in cost control, menu creation, and assisting in the training of café staff.
Key Responsibilities:

Ensure offerings and ingredient selections are in accordance with the Rose Bakery philosophy and standards.

Create seasonal daily menus with variety and quality.

Assist with the management of the kitchen and front of house.

Comply with and enforce hygiene and food safety standards.

Provide line cooks with clear directives and guidance.

Responsible for sourcing and placing all food and non-food orders.
Key Requirements & Skills:

2 Years of experience as a Sous Chef

Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures

Strong communicator.

Capable of multi-tasking while maintaining a high attention to detail.

Flexible to the needs of the business.

Able to assist Head Chef in building and leading a team.

Ability to stand for long period of time

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
