SUMMARY:
This position’s primary functions are to assist the VP for Athletics by coordinating and managing the day-to-day activities of the college’s intercollegiate athletics programs, including business operations, facilities scheduling, travel, and event management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Coordinate and manage athletics practice scheduling, home contest facility scheduling, and department travel with the support of VP For Athletics.
- Coordinate, supervise and manage home athletics events, including ticketing, staffing, concessions, security, and facility services
- Participate in planning and implementation of departmental budget process
- Serve as liaison between Athletics Department and off-campus athletics facilities users
- Communicate and coordinate with appropriate college personnel regarding athletics facilities usage, maintenance, and event services
- Attend meetings, events, seminars, conferences, etc. in support of departmental and institutional goals
- Coordinate, supervise, and manage all postseason hosted events and serve as liaison between the college NAIA
- Help oversee the department Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) with support of VP for Athletics
- Provide support for VP for Athletics on corporate sponsorships and department fundraising efforts
- Provide support to VP for Athletics on planning for Hall of Fame banquet and awards
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises support staff directly involved in managing the day-to-day operations of an assigned intercollegiate athletics department and/or hosting athletics events. Support staff may be full or part-time, and may include head coaches, volunteer and/or paid assistant coaches, student assistants, student managers and other program staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the institutional policies and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, making hiring recommendations, and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- Education and / or Experience – bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a four-year college; or one to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree preferred.
- Communication / Language -- Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills. Ability to read and interpret documents; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively with groups and / or individuals.
- Mathematical -- Ability to calculate figures and amounts as in discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
- Reasoning -- Ability to apply common sense in carrying out instructions provided in written, oral or diagram form; ability to independently resolve problems.

- Computer Literacy / General Office Equipment -- Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; CARS/Jenzabar. Ability to operate adding machine, copier, printer, fax machine.
