Summary
Responsible for the accuracy and timelines of processing weekly and biweekly payroll for Rolling Hills Casino.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Ensures accuracy of payroll information submitted by all departments. Prepares the information to be transmitted to outside payroll processing company. Electronically transfers payroll for weekly and biweekly check runs. Downloads payroll information back from payroll processing company. Performs controls to ensure accuracy.
- Performs payroll account reconciliation and prepares journal entries to record weekly payroll in the general ledger system.
- Ensures security and confidentiality of all payroll and personnel records.
- Processes direct deposit information.
- Processes Payroll change Notices. Ensures accuracy of the information provided on the forms such as effective dates, retro dates, etc.
- Generates weekly overtime and garnishment reports. Generates adhoc reports as requested by other departments.
- Participates in the orientation of new employees and supervisors on pay procedures.
- Performs special analyses as required by the Corporate Controller and Finance Director.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform
each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Knowledge of California wage laws, account analysis and reconciliation, general ledger and daily journal entries. Excellent organizational skills. Strong computer skills required.
10-key by touch. Good math skills. High volume payroll experience for 500+ employees.
Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or five to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Gaming license issued by the Paskenta Gaming Commission.
