Summary
The successful candidate is responsible for ensuring positive guest experience and will know how to mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to casino guest by performing the following duties according to policies and procedures. Must be willing to work weekends, nights and holidays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Provides constant, attentive and friendly service to guests.
- Obtains orders from patrons and servers.
- Mixes ingredients such as liquor, flavored liquor, soda, juices, sparkling and non-sparkling water, sugar, bitters and garnishes to prepare cocktails and other types of drinks (Note: All liquor is to be metered by approved shot glasses).
- Serves alcohol and non-alcohol beverages, wine, and draft or bottled beer.
- Knowledge of name brands and liquors, wines, and bottle beers.
- Knowledge of appetizer menu, for “Suggestive Selling”, to patrons.
- Collects money for all beverages and food.
- Monitors consumption of alcohol served to patrons.
- Operates balances and reconciles cash & credit card transactions, and follows proper procedures for closing and balancing till.
- Report to Supervisor all liquors, beers, mixed, glassware, and other bar supplies, which need to be ordered when running low.
- Arranges bottles and glasses to make attractive display.
- Replenish bar snacks such as chips, pretzels, nuts, etc., when needed.
- Stock, clean, prepares fruits, and vegetables, for garnishing cocktails.
- Keep the bar clean, stocked, and organized, for all shifts.
- Upholds standards set by Alcohol Beverage Control Board of California.
- Able to maintain a hospitable and team atmosphere with fellow staff.
- Sell alcohol beverages and food to guests, following TipS guidelines.
- Relays any complaints, problems or positive remarks to Shift Manager or Shift Supervisor.
- Maintains assigned workstation and section.
- Attends and passes a written test from the TipS program.
- Maintains confidential daily record keeping of tips.
- Follows established company and departmental standards for personal appearance and behavior.
- Follows established departmental policies and procedures.
- Follows policies and procedures set forth by Rolling Hills Casino.
- Responsible for maintaining the liquor room & beer walk-in.
- Responsible for putting liquor in storage area, rotating product, and cleanliness of storage areas.
- Attend all training meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Bartending Certificate from college or technical school
Required; or 2 years of high volume bartending experience required and or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have previous experience with a Point of Sale (POS) system. Candidate must have previous customer service experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Gaming license issued by the Paskenta Gaming Commission. TipS certification as trained at Rolling Hills Casino. Food handler’s card provided by Rolling Hills Casino. Must obtain Title 31 certification as trained by Rolling Hills Casino.
