Job Title: Retail Cashier

SUMMARY
A retail cashier maintains a professional attitude with sincerity and enthusiasm reflecting our commitment to the best possible guest service expectations. Develops product knowledge by reading current vendor tags and pamphlets and attending training classes to communicate it to the customer. Cashiers must stay current with promotional events and sales.
A retail cashier is responsible for all sales activities and cashier job duties, from greeting customers, answering questions, helping, suggesting items, lending opinions, and providing product information. Individual responsibilities as a Retail Cashier may include demonstrating outstanding customer service and selling skills, keeping the selling floor stocked with merchandise, addressing customer comments, assisting in the display of merchandise, or organizing the selling floor and stock areas.
Retail cashier requirements:
· Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a genuine desire to provide outstanding service
· Available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts
· Previous retail experience or similar experience on the sales floor a plus
· Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
· Proficient in verbal and written English language
· Knowledge of customer and market dynamics and requirements
· Solid communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate with customers, cast members, and management
· Courteous and professional Telephone etiquette
· Operates POS system, balances and reconciles cash and credit card transactions, and follow proper procedures for closing and balancing tills.
· Totals receipts, at end of shift, to verify sales and clears cash register.
· Follow established departmental policies and procedures.
· Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision
· Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment:
While performing the cashier duties, the work exposes the associate to a casino environment, including exposure
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required and a minimum of five (5) years specific or relevant experience is preferred.
Language Skills
The ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. The ability to write simple correspondence and can effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations in the organization.
Physical Demands
This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, stand for long periods of time, kneel, stoop, crouch, reach and crawl when needed
