Summary

Welcomes all people in a positive, friendly and inviting manner to set the tone for an outstanding guest service experience while performing the essential duties listed below.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides a consistent, attentive and friendly service experience.
  • Make sure guests are greeted in a timely manner with a warm smile and proper words.
  • Welcomes and escorts patrons to their assigned tables; walking at pace of guest making eye contact and conversation.
  • Know table numbers and perform opening checklist duties.
  • Seat tables for optimum seating of the restaurant.
  • Double checks cleanliness of table, chairs, and utensils; never seat guests at an unbussed table.
  • Provides clean and organized menus to guests while explaining any special menu items.
  • Alerts server about new patrons in their station.
  • Tracks table rotations and special seating requests.
  • Helps bus tables as needed.
  • Tracks and records seating sequence and special requests (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.). 
  • Know how to handle large party reservations.
  • Run a wait list accurately taking information from guests and quoting proper wait times.
  • Follows proper procedures for any special promotional items.
  • Maintains assigned workstation and section in a clean and accurate manner; sweep and clean front desk area regularly.
  • Able to maintain a hospitable and team atmosphere with patrons and staff.
  • Listen for phone and answer using correct words. Always address guests in a positive manner.
  • Helps to serves alcohol beverages and food to guests, following TipS guidelines if requested.
  • Inspects restaurant area for neatness and cleanliness of all dining room supplies for tables and serving stations.
  • Maintain restrooms every 30 minutes and note on Restroom checklist at front desk.
  • Uses time on the floor to check on service experience of patrons.
  • Polish and roll silverware during slow periods.
  • Fill to go and merchandise orders.
  • Relays any guest remarks to Shift Manager or Shift Supervisor.
  • Follow closing checklist and be checked out by manager before leaving.
  • Follow established departmental policies and procedures.
  • Follow established company and departmental standards for personal appearance and behavior.
  • Report to work on time in neat, cleaned and pressed attire. Well groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential; jewelry, perfume and cologne must be subtle.
  • Attend all training meetings
  • Assist in other projects, as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Must be able to attend and periodically pass a written test from TipS program.
  • Hepatitis B shot
  • Slip resistant shoes

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

 

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred and/or one to three months related experience and/or training.   

 

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Gaming license issued by the Paskenta Gaming Commission.  TipS certification as trained at Rolling Hills Casino. 

Food handler’s permit from a relevant government agency.  Must obtain Title 31 certification as trained by Rolling Hills Casino.

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.  The employee must continually lift, push or pull up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

Work Environment
