The Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) welcomes applications for the position of General Aviation Administrator at Cecil Airport through midnight on Sunday, March 30, 2025

Job Summary

This is advanced level professional administrative work in planning, coordinating, and monitoring projects and administration activities at Cecil Airport & Spaceport. The position coordinates, develops, evaluates, and implements all administrative procedures, budgetary and contract supervision, telecommunications and IT functionality and organizational documentation at Cecil. The work requires extensive knowledge of administrative principles and procedures of coordinating projects usually gained through education and on-the-job experience. Contact with others requires skills in understanding and influencing people, courtesy, tact, effectiveness in dealing with others and skill in managing vendor relationships. The work is performed in an office environment where employee is required to use a computer and other standard office equipment. The employee plans and organizes the work and determines own priorities, and the work is reviewed, usually after-the-fact, in terms of quality, timeliness and adherence to established policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Essential Functions

  • Provides administrative support and guidance to the Cecil Airport & Spaceport Director and the Cecil staff.
  • Provides timely and effective customer service support for internal and external customer inquiries on airport facilities and services, and provides general information.
  • Facilitates and supervises two cost center budgets.
  • Facilitates and supervises operational and facilities procurement contracts.
  • Develops and manages airport documentation to include website, SharePoint, airport programs and electronic file management.
  • Facilitates and oversees utilities, telecommunications, badging, travel, and administrative standardization.
  • Facilitates and manages the general aviation training program.
  • Coordinates, gathers, reviews, compiles, and maintains all complex files on sensitive/confidential issues.
  • Serves as staff liaison to department heads, special committees, and boards, standing commission committees or other entities as required.
  • Coordinates and oversees special events.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Aviation Management AND
  • Two (2) years of experience providing administrative and/or contract management support OR
  • an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Aviation industry experience
  • Budgeting experience
  • Experience using Oracle software and eAM software
  • Experience coordinating corporate travel

Licenses and/or Certifications

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E drivers license
  • Notary public license (preferred)

Physical Demands

The physical demands consist of moving from one work location to another, sitting or standing at a workstation for extended periods of time and may involve lifting objects weighing up to 15 pounds. Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
