Position Objective:

The Ponderosa Lodge (“PL”) Lead Health Technician (HT) assists, reports to and supports the Healthcare Supervisor with all health needs of campers and staff in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.

 

General Qualifications:

A mature follower of Jesus, still growing and developing in their faith. Fully in accord with Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) mission, vision, values and statement of beliefs. Committed to living these out personally, and instilling them in the organization. Of strong moral character and integrity.

 

Key Job Accountabilities:           

  • Guide, encourage, and direct the PL Healthcare Technicians as directed by the Healthcare Services Administrator, PL Healthcare Supervisor (“HS”) and/or Ponderosa Lodge Program Director.
  • Coordinate and participate in stocking the PL Healthcare Center.
  • Under the direction of the Healthcare Services Administrator or a MHA Healthcare Supervisor, facilitate technician team process in storing, handling and dosing medication in compliance with MHA’s Medication Policy and Procedures.
  • Assist with transporting campers or staff to urgent care or hospital using MHA’s “2 Person Policy.”
  • Report to Conference Center Health Supervisor all campers requiring transport to offsite healthcare providers.
  • Access Circuitree-Health history/emergency contact form, parent/guardian consent, and Medication Administration Record as needed.
  • Report daily to CC Health Supervisor and or Healthcare Services Administrator
  • Ensure Technician team checks / documents AEDs, weekly.
  • Document each camper’s or parent’s clinical encounters in Circuitree and MHA staff/JEMS/AMATA/CILTS in Camp Health Log.
  • Carry First Aid back pack, (Epi-pens and Benadryl) on Beach Day and connects as needed with CC Health Supervisor.
  • Participate in Health Screening of Campers and Staff as needed.
  • With CC Health Supervisor or Healthcare Administrator’s support, locate, complete and distribute: Worker’s Compensation Packet (DWC-1), Employee or Volunteer Incident Report, Campers insurance forms ensuring Human Resources has all appropriate paperwork within 24hrs. Perform any other duties as assigned by Conference Center Health Supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned by the PL Health Supervisor and/or Healthcare Administrator.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Healthcare Center Technicians.

Qualifications

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

  • High school graduate.
  • Current American Heart Association Certification in First Aid/CPR/AED which includes care of infant, child, and adult.
  • College or university course work in preventative health practice, pharmacology, anatomy and physiology are preferred.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older with a clean driving record due to MH driver policy.

 

Work Experience:

  • Preferred experience (work or volunteer) working in health services environment.
  • Previous HT work experience with MHA.

Physical Demands:

  • The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
  • Ability to see, hear, grasp and speak English.
  • The employee is frequently required to run, crouch, stand, sit for long periods, and use steep trails and stairs.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must agree to and comply with MHA’s employee driving guidelines for MHA-owned vehicles and personal vehicles for business purposes.
  • Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in MHA’s Mission, Vision, Values and Commitment statements.
  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation, or valid work permit, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
