Position Objective:
The PL Ropes Assistant ensures the safety and well-being of campers and staff using the adventure activities at PL, (including, but not limited to, climbing tower and ropes course activities,) and is responsible to model a genuine lifestyle of Christian discipleship, providing for campers with an experience that aligns with the MHA Youth vision and values.
General Qualifications:
The Ponderosa Lodge (“PL”) Ropes Assistant is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) mission, vision and beliefs. They are responsible for defining, cultivating and leading MHA’s Christian community, conference programs, and retreats.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Care for and maintain all adventure equipment, including conducting daily and regular inspections.
- Maintain all adventure areas.
- Ensure the safety of all campers and staff in adventure activities.
- Working alongside rotating counselors in all adventure events ensuring that cabin activities run smoothly.
- Evaluate program and equipment inventory at the end of the summer.
- Other duties as assigned by the PL Ropes Lead.
