Position Objective:
The RWC Adventure Assistant works with the Adventure Lead and the RWC Assistant Director to develop, implement, and oversee operation of RWC recreation facilities and assist with cook-out program as well as teambuilding workshops to provide a welcoming environment and with unparalleled customer service in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.
General Qualifications:
The Redwood Camp (“RWC”) Adventure Assistant is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) mission, vision and beliefs. They are responsible for defining, cultivating and leading MHA’s Christian community, conference programs, and retreats.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Set up and take down daily recreation and adventure activities.
- Assist in the leading of adventure activities.
- Assist in recreation facilities maintenance and upkeep, documenting and reporting on equipment needs. Assist in the adventure facility maintenance as well.
- Assist RWC Adventure-Recreation Lead with promotion of adventure department as well as assisting in training and supervision of counselors in ropes course leadership, safety, proper use of equipment, and work toward proficiency in skills.
- Assist RWC Program Lead in implementing set up and running games.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Pro-Ro (counselors on rotation helping run either adventure or recreation elements).
