Position Objective:
Family Camp High School Counselors are responsible to model a genuine Christian lifestyle to high school campers, provide campers’ safety and well-being while befriending campers to nurture spiritual growth, in order to lead them one step closer to Jesus, in a manner consistent with Mount Hermon’s mission, vision, and values.
General Qualifications:
The Family Camp High School Counselor is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships, and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming Mount Hermon’s mission, vision, and beliefs. They are responsible for defining, cultivating, and leading Mount Hermon’s Christian community, conference programs, and retreats.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Create a warm and welcoming environment for all campers.
- Mentor male and female students, helping students grow in their faith by inviting them into all aspects of the programming.
- Lead a daily small group of students reinforcing the daily objectives of the youth program.
- Work alongside campers aiding in service and work activities to provide leadership, accountability, and encouragement.
- Participate in bonus jobs with other departments on the mountain.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
