Position Objective:

The Program Lead is responsible for the coordinating and supporting of programmed activities at Mount Hermon Family Camp as directed by the Program Services Manager. Working in the Program team to implement intergenerational elements of the Family Camp Program to ensure a welcoming environment that fosters learning through the provided program materials and activities.

 

General Qualifications:

The Program Lead is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming MHA's mission, vision and beliefs. They are responsible for defining, cultivating and leading MHA’s Christian community, conference programs, and retreats.

 

Key Job Accountabilities:

● Lead elements of morning and evening programming, and provide direction to support staff and guests.

● Provide assistance and oversight with decorating and constructing themed elements for the Conference Center at Mount Hermon Family Camp.

● Additional point of contact for all Family Camp Productions including skits, speakers, worship leaders, and programmed activities.

● Set up and tear down of activities and programming at Family Camp.

● Lead Summer Staff in operational elements of Family Camp.

● Coordinate with all departments around the success of Mount Hermon Family Camp.

● Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the Program Services Manager and Chief of Staff. Supervising summer staff during programmed activities or the successful completion of Family Camp.

Qualifications

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

● High School graduate.

● Some college experience preferred.

• Current valid driver’s license and a clean driving record required.

 

Work Experience:

● Prior camp experience preferred.

● Prior work in theatrical production preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

● Must possess leadership skills and emotional and spiritual maturity.

● Ability to communicate clearly, respectfully and tactfully with camp speakers, musicians, and executives.

● Love for children and youth of all ages is essential; capable of providing strong Christian role model.

● Ability to teach with patience and clear instruction.

● Must possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

● Mature understanding and respect for leadership and peers, as well as camp guidelines and principles.

● Attention to detail.

● A heart to serve Family Camp guests and other departments at MHA.

● Must be able to lead guests.

● Self-Starter.

● Must possess creativity.

 

Physical Demands:

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Requires sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, and twisting.

 

Additional Requirements:

● Must be at least 18 years of age due to the requirement for onsite community living.

● Will be assigned a secondary role(s).

● Must agree to and comply with MHA's employee driving guidelines for MHA-owned vehicles and personal vehicles for business purposes.

● Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in MHA’s Mission, Vision, Values and Commitment statements.

● Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.

● Satisfactory completion of background investigation as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
