Position Title: Senior Graphic Designer

Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Marketing Manager

Department: Marketing & Public Relations

SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Marketing Manager, the Graphic Designer is primarily responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the organization’s digital and print graphic design.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and maintain Graphic Design Standards for Turtle Bay’s departments and partnering organizations
  • Design for multiple audiences and marketing campaigns.
  • Design promotional, educational, and directional content such as wayfinding
  • Oversee digital and print projects from conception to delivery.
  • Source images for print collateral, website, and social media use and maintain the organization’s photo and video archives.
  • Assist and advise staff on the implementation of the organization’s branding and style guide.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in design or related field required.
  • Minimum four (4) years of design work experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Very proficient with Adobe Creative Suite applications (especially Illustrator, Lightroom, InDesign and Photoshop).
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple departments to ensure proper delivery of marketing design assets.
  • Ability to skillfully organize and manage details, problem solve and oversee diverse priorities and/or multiple projects simultaneously and within deadlines independently or as part of a team.
  • Proven expertise in implementing successful marketing campaigns and associated design strategies.
  • Ability to design and scale branded designs for a wide range of applications including event signage, web banners, flyers, and advertisements.
  • Strong creative thinking skills, attention to detail, and a sense of layout, color combinations, hierarchy of information, and typography.
  • Understanding of color profiles for print and web graphic design, and correct file deliverables for intended use.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to utilize company file storage practices.
  • Manage production of all print pieces from conception to completion in coordination with graphic design team members.
  • Experience developing and maintaining print and electronic media contacts.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated public speaking skills. Must communicate compellingly in various styles and circumstances and interact effectively with staff, management, the media, and community, and business contacts.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage project budgets.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and extended days, as needed.
  • Must possess a valid California driver’s license or be able to acquire it within ten (10) days. Provide a clean DMV report.
  • Knowledge of MS Office software and macOS.
  • Knowledge and ability to do photography or videography a plus.
