Position Overview:

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for leading, guiding, and overseeing the delivery of occupational therapy services within the facility. This role ensures that all therapy services are provided in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as in alignment with facility policies and procedures. The primary objective is to deliver high-quality, appropriate care and services to patients and residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts comprehensive evaluations, re-evaluations, and discharges of patients in accordance with clinical standards and individualized care plans.
  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, and evaluates occupational therapy services, programs, and activities, ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal regulations and the state-specific occupational therapy practice act.
  • Confirms and verifies patient information by conducting interviews, reviewing medical histories, and clarifying treatment objectives.
  • Accurately documents patient progress and treatment outcomes in occupational therapy records for continuity of care.
  • Ensures appropriate billing and reimbursement by recording detailed information on services provided.
  • Promotes and maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing organizational policies, procedures, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Upholds the integrity of the occupational therapy profession by adhering to ethical standards, facility policies, applicable laws, and accrediting body standards such as those set by The Joint Commission.
  • Contributes to the advancement of occupational therapy services by embracing new responsibilities, addressing emerging patient needs, and seeking opportunities for service improvement.
  • Demonstrates adaptability in delivering care across diverse environments and situations commonly encountered in a rural healthcare setting.
  • Perform duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program and successfully pas the NBCOT exam.
  • Current and valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • One year of experience in occupational therapy preferred. New grads welcome.
  • Strong understanding of a variety of occupational therapy techniques, assistive technologies, and adaptive equipment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to patients' unique needs.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Current or willingness to obtain BLS certification
