THE ROLE

Responsible for the forecasting and replenishment of items for designated supermarket retail customers and distribution centers. Monitor shipments and inventory, communicate with buying teams and buying team leadership, and generate purchase orders to optimize ordered vs. shipped, days of supply, aged inventory, expiration dates, and store in-stock.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

 

    • Manage demand forecasting
    • Manage replenishment of all items while navigating forecasting, demand volatility, perishability, SKU count, and/or supply chain complexity.
    • Write Purchase Orders (POs) for designated vendors including both turn and promotional volume.
    • Replenish any new items based on reset schedules.
    • Manage the flow of product related to pack changes and discontinued items.
    • Review promotional and display plans and incorporate into forecasting and buying.
    • Manage critical metrics with DCs, (e.g., aged and excess inventory, expiration dates, days of supply, and ordered vs shipped).
    • Coordinate arrival of product and warehouse turnover in accordance with retail store needs, sound inventory control, and warehouse delivery schedules; manage delivery rescheduling.
    • Identify supply chain capacity constraints, logistics and other opportunities.
    • Communicate with demand and supply planning teams, buying teams and buying team leadership.
    • Receive and manage Quality Assurance information to maintain fresh, sellable product in the warehouses.

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
    • Experience in either replenishment buying, store co-management, operations, supply chain, merchandising, VMI, or similar experience.
    • Preference for candidates with exposure to arge national supermarket retailers (e.g. Kroger, Albertsons, Wal-Mart, and similar) Category Management System Data Warehouse, Business Objects, Procurement Systems
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
