Description

As a Sweeper Truck Driver you are responsible for operating equipment within the facility based on a daily scheduled route cleaning airport ramp areas and taxiways by removing debris, oil, fuel, lavatory spills, including broken pavement, asphalt and concrete millings, or any other foreign object debris. Sweeper Truck Driver may be required to exit the vehicle to collect large debris not picked up by the sweeper. Sweeper Truck Drivers are exposed to various climate conditions of the geographic area along with exposure to hot and cold soapy water, chemicals, dust, tobacco waste or other irritants. Sweeper Truck Driver responds to emergency calls for cleaning ramp area of spills or foreign objects. Sweeper Truck Drivers perform pre-inspections of the vehicles exterior and interior; may perform minor maintenance such as airing tires or other minor items detected during pre and post-trip inspections. Notify manager and mechanic of any issues. Drivers are responsible to keep the truck clean at all times and must fuel the truck at the end of shift along with completing any daily paperwork the position requires. Must be able to work as a team and follow instructions as given. Other duties may be assigned. Participates in ISO practices and embraces ISO principles and philosophies in the performance of principal duties and responsibilities.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required. Previous related experience or training is preferred but not required.
 

Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
All licenses and industry certifications as required by local and/or state jurisdictions.  Class D Driver's License or higher required, with a clean driving record.
