Field Service Technician

Westfalia Technologies, Inc. has set the benchmark in the automation industry, delivering top-tier solutions and innovations. Our team is currently seeking a Field Service Technician to join our Field Service Department. This position is responsible for performing field service and installation work on all equipment built or supplied by Westfalia Technologies, Inc.

 

Job Functions:

  • Support parts and service sales for S/RMs, conveyors, palletizers, and robots.
  • Process and follow up on parts orders for S/RMs, conveyors, palletizers, and robots.
  • Provide preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair support to customers—25% in-house and 75% on-site.
  • Deliver world-class customer service to all clients.
  • Interface with customers daily, including providing daily reports and ensuring follow-up actions are completed.
  • Facilitate communication between customers and internal teams, including Sales, Engineering, and other associates.
  • Submit all required paperwork promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Foster teamwork within the Service Department.
  • Perform tasks in the production shop when service work is not available.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar business software applications
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with customers and coworkers
  • Collaborative team player with a positive attitude
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Skilled in resolving customer complaints and issues professionally and calmly

 

Education/Experience:

  • Previous experience with electro/mechanical repair and troubleshooting
  • Previous experience with diagnostic tools and equipment

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Must be fit for air travel and legally able to rent and drive a rented vehicle
  • Constantly positions oneself through stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling in and around machinery for inspections and maintenance
  • Must be able to ascend and descend a fixed vertical ladder, up to 135’ high, 10% of the time.
  • Must be able to visually assess machinery in dark environments
  • Frequently moves toolboxes weighing up to 70lbs.  Occasionally, required to lift or position heavier objects with the use of rigging.  Must have full mobility to safely rig equipment up to 1,000lbs
  • Work environment temperatures range from -40F to 110F
  • The person in this position frequently will require clear, concise, and active communication with others during manual operation of the machines.
