Shipping/Receiving Clerk

We are seeking a reliable Shipping/Receiving Clerk to join our team! The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for shipping, receiving, and inventory control in a manufacturing environment. Duties include material handling, preparing shipments, operating equipment, and maintaining safety and quality standards. Collaboration and organizational skills are essential.

 

Job Functions:

  • Load and unload trucks using pallet jacks, forklifts, or overhead hoists.
  • Verify and receive incoming materials in the ERP system by matching packing slips to materials and purchase orders. Inspect and tag components when required with barcodes for tracking.
  • Place inventory materials in the correct bin locations or deliver them to inventory control for storage.
  • Assist with inventory control by performing daily cycle counts.
  • Prepare completed conveying equipment for outgoing shipments by skidding and securing loose materials.
  • Schedule trucks for outgoing shipments.
  • Operate machinery such as drill presses, punch presses, saws, etc., to complete shipping preparations.
  • Complete required shipping paperwork, including bills of lading (BOL), packing slips (PK/Slp), etc.
  • Perform basic quality control checks on incoming components.
  • Operate forklifts and overhead cranes as needed.
  • Assist in other departments as required.
  • Maintain and clean the work area.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with shipping and receiving operations.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Windows products.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Adherence to company safety standards.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to operate shop equipment such as drills, drill presses, radial saws, band saws, etc.
  • Forklift driver’s license is a plus.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States with proper documentation.
  • Must own basic tools.

 

Education/Experience:

  • 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate an overhead crane with a capacity of up to 15 tons.
