JOB SUMMARY
Renovate, maintain and repair physical buildings and grounds in order to continue ongoing high quality and safety for
patients, employees and visitors. Performs duties according to the Scope of Service for CIP. Adheres to an practices
the SJH Corporate Compliance Program and participates in Performance Improvement activities.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Renovate, maintain and repair physical buildings and grounds in order to continue ongoing high quality and safety for
patients, employees and visitors. Completes tasks as assigned.
Attentive to every detail of finished project, takes pride in a job well done.

Takes direction well and follows through with assigned tasks. Maintains, develops and updates skills to implement
ideal service.

Ongoing commitment to improving our finished product and customer service through skills improvement and seeking
better ways to accomplish tasks.

Consistently uses hard hat, eye protection and other safety equipment as required.

Works safely in public areas, takes precautions to protect public and co-workers.

Properly places and uses scaffolding, tools and equipment, protecting self and others.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
Required: NA

Minimum Work Experience
Required: Basic knowledge of tool and construction techniques, neat and clean appearance. Must read and write English.
Painting ability. General maintenance aptitude. Willingness to cooperate and learn. Good communication,
interpersonal, and customer service skills. Ability to meet time schedules.
 
FUNCTIONAL DEMANDS
Working Conditions
Hospital clinical and office setting. Indoor and outdoor work. Potential hazards such as high voltages, gears and
machinery, bio-hazardous wastes, high pressure steam system, elevated work areas, occasional temperature
extremes, exposure to chemicals. Must be on-site at the SJH campus or other facilities to fulfill the responsibilities
of this role.
 
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 75 pounds. 95% of time standing and walking. Intermittent sitting. Ability to bend, twist, stoop, reach
above shoulders, push, pull. Ability to climb ladders and stairs. Frequently working in high areas (ladders).

All hospital staff, suppliers, contractors, patients and visitors.
