Summary
Perform a variety of material handling duties and responsibilities to ensure the consistent flow of materials throughout the donated goods and retail division.Â
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in general warehouse operations by performing assigned duties in warehouse, post- consumer sorting of commodities, outlet rotation and tipping.Â
- Accurately completes paperwork including but not limited to: Â Truck manifest forms, powered industrial equipment inspections, SAP scanning.Â
- Maintains a clean and organized work area that is cleaned of dust, debris, loose clothing and any hazards during and at the end of each shift. Â Â
- Receives goods from the general public; to include, but not be limited to: Â Greets and assists donors by providing information; unloads donations; offers and provides receipts, determines what is acceptable according to criteria; rejects unusable items tactfully; as per training, provides tax information per guidelines; maintains excellent public relations at all times; sorts donations into proper containers and removes trash; completes all necessary paperwork such as daily donor logs, donor receipts, etc.; keeps donation site clear and clean at all times.
- Presents an appropriate appearance and good customer service to the general public and coworkers.
- Promotes an environment of workplace safety. Assures that duties are performed in a safe manner and safety requirements are adhered to.
- Communicates progress, concerns and issues to Distribution Center Manager in a timely manner.
