Description

Position Overview:;

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function for the agency managing the functions of policies and procedures administration, onboarding, orientation, training, talent acquisition, performance management, record retention, benefits, and employee relations.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the HR department.
  • Maintain knowledge of state and federal HR related laws, regulations, and programs, and ensure organizational compliance.
  • Review all requests from department directors for new or replacement personnel, fill requests as approved.
  • Check applications and references of prospective employees and arrange for interview with department
  • Maintain an adequate personnel record filing system that meets the needs of the facility and complies with current employment practices.
  • Ensure hiring/discharge procedures are in compliance with established procedures and policies.
  • Conduct employee background checks in accordance with our facility’s established procedures.
  • Orient new personnel to facility and explain personnel policies, procedures, payroll procedures, safety procedures, grievance procedures etc., as established in our operational policies and procedures.
  • Counsel/discipline personnel as requested or as necessary.
  • Conduct exit interviews and record data in the employee’s personnel records.
  • Manage the employee onboarding experience.
  • Responsible for the conducting all background checks, reference checks, pre-employment drug screening and other relevant new hire activities.
  • Manage employee and management inquiries on a broad range of issues and provides general guidance.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all employee information.
  • Ensure employees receive performance evaluations:
  • Maintain a job posting systems to communicate opportunities for staff.
  • Facilitate employee training.
  • Communicate benefit information to employees and manage the open enrollment process.
  • Process employee status changes in a timely manner.
  • Update position descriptions as changes occur.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required;
  • HR certification preferred;
  • 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Ability to maintains a high level of confidentiality and professionalism;
  • Service oriented, empathetic and able to interact and develop rapport with a diverse population;
  • Must pass mandatory background checks which may include verification of references, and pre-employment drug screen.
