- Exhibits and mentors the student-athletes in good sportsmanship and fair play.
- Attends the rules interpretation meeting and trainings.
- Attends mandatory coaches’ meetings.
- Monitors the conduct of their student-athletes during practice games.
- Provides a safe environment for the student-athletes by checking the playing area and equipment before each practice and game/competition.
- Prevents injuries through thoughtful balanced workouts.
- Instructs student-athletes in the basic rules and fundamentals of the sport.
- Assists in implementing training programs for the Athletic Development Program.
- Implements athlete registration and evaluations and maintains the evaluation database.

Travel Required
- Light travel between the MS and US campuses.
- Travel to and from competitions in the Bay Area, and potential overnight travel for regional and state competitions within California (if the team qualifies).

Required education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- One (1) year minimum of related experience is preferred
- Valid CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (American Red Cross/American Heart Association)
- Basketball experience
- General knowledge of best practices in athletics and basketball

- Able to work in a dynamic environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts
- Works in outside weather conditions including extreme heat and cold
- Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort, including climbing, balancing stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling moderately heavy objects and materials weighing 20-50 pounds

Salary and Benefits
This is a seasonal, part-time, non-exempt staff position, working 10-15 hours per week. It is not eligible for benefits. The hourly wage ranges from $20 to $30, depending on experience, with an estimated total compensation of $4,500 to $5,500 for the season. Season key dates start on November 4, 2024 through February 28th, 2025.
The recruitment period will remain open until sufficient resumes have been received and may close at any time a sufficient pool of highly qualified candidates has been established. First consideration will be given to individuals that apply between October 10, 2024 through October 18, 2024. Second consideration will be given to individuals that apply between October 19, 2024 through October 31, 2024. The ideal start date for this position is November 4, 2024.
