JMBM is seeking a highly qualified Accounting Specialist who will work closely with the CFO to  assist with general accounting duties and payroll reporting.  The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and experience working with clients, attorneys, and staff at all levels.  A high degree of professionalism and customer service skills, as well as the ability to learn new skills quickly and adapt to changing priorities are required.  Must be detail oriented and able to work independently and as part of a team. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare daily bank reconciliations for various accounts, general ledger account analysis and reconciliations, and assist with survey responses and other special projects as needed
  • Assist with processing bi-weekly/semi-monthly payrolls
  • Prepare weekly cash flow report for management
  • Prepare quarterly bank compliance and other governmental filing reports
  • Prepare annual state/local tax reports including city business taxes and property taxes
  • Prepare annual departmental budget reports and analysis

 

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • High school diploma required.  Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a finance position with payroll and general accounting background.  Law firm environment is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and automated payroll systems are a must.
  • Experience working with Aderant is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in entering financial data
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Position: Non-Exempt

Location: Century City. 5 days onsite for the first 90-days, then 4 days per week onsite, 1 day remote thereafter. 

Salary: $75k – 90k base
