Position Overview:
This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing automated equipment and machinery in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with warehouse automation systems, including conveyors, robotic systems, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and other mechanical and electrical components. A strong understanding of warehouse operations and safety protocols is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on automated warehouse systems, including conveyors, sorting systems, and robotics.
- Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues with warehouse automation equipment to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- System Optimization: Identify opportunities for system optimization and make adjustments to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency of warehouse automation systems.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to warehouse operations staff, assisting them with the safe and proper use of automated equipment and troubleshooting minor issues as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts usage, and equipment performance to support operational continuity and compliance.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to OSHA, company safety standards, and compliance regulations. Promptly address any safety concerns with automation systems.
- Collaboration: Work closely with warehouse operations, management, and vendors to coordinate maintenance activities, equipment upgrades, and system modifications.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s degree in engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field preferred. Relevant certifications or technical training considered.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in maintenance, repair, or servicing of automated systems in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with PLCs, control systems, and robotics is highly desirable.
- Skilled in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair.
- Knowledge of software used for system diagnostics and controls.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and a high level of attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand or walk for extended periods, and work in varying warehouse environments (temperature, noise).
- Work Required Shift (AM or PM) until the job duties are completed. 1 Weekend Day may be required.
- Willingness to work 50 hours per week, not including break time.
