Position Summary

The Physician Privileging Specialist (PPS) is responsible for completing the privileging processes for physician radiologists of Real Radiology. The PPS ensures that facility medical privileges are submitted appropriately and checks the status of privilege applications for assigned facilities. The PPS will report directly to the Physician Services Manager.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Obtain and complete facility privilege applications for both initial and renewals as requested by Physician Privileging Ambassadors.
  • Proof all applications and prepare for signatures from physician
  • Obtain fees from accounting as needed to complete submissions
  • Request verifications to be sent directly back to facilities as needed
  • Stay updated on facility privileging requirements for assigned facilities
  • Develop relationships with key personnel at privileging facilities
  • Communicate with facilities to identify application deficiencies and submit corrections as needed or determine expected timing of issuance
  • Document all actions in system provide and maintain accurate information
  • Escalate issues to management as necessary
  • Other tasks as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years’ experience in privileging and/or credentialing process.
  • Strong communication skills will be communicating to internal and external constituents.
  • Strong computer skills ability to work with databases and spreadsheets

They will be communicating with others to exchange information, and this is sedentary work that primarily involves sitting.
