Role

To assist members and potential members with their financial transactions, involving paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments; explains services, respond to problems, and direct members to the appropriate people.

**This is a branch support position that will travel to the Northern region branches to provide coverage as needed**

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Protect the integrity and confidentiality of our membership by identifying members/account ownership to ensure proper access is upheld. Perform transactional duties to serve members with high accuracy in accordance with credit union policies and procedures as well as adhering to P1FCU’s balancing standards and proper dual control.

Deepen member relationships by presenting and explaining credit union products and services to members that meet the members financial needs through positive interactions.

Exceed service expectations by creating unparalleled member experiences and excellence with every interaction, taking ownership of issues and challenges, and increasing member loyalty.

Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of all credit union products and services to deepen member relationships.

Responsible for learning the core skills of the position, along with continuously learning, staying current on regulatory, policy and procedure changes.

Proactively and efficiently resolve issues/problems with member accounts.

Performs other duties as assigned: including but not limited to drive-up service and night drop functions as assigned. Ensures that work area is clean, secure and well maintained. Performs related clerical duties and attends meetings as required.

Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills

Experience

Ideally a minimum of one to three years of similar or related experience.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

A high school degree or equivalent

Interpersonal Skills

Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.

Other Skills

Must have excellent knowledge of P1FCU products and services. Must be familiar with various computer software programs and comfortable with automated technology. Must be able to type, use PC, general office equipment including ten-key calculator. Excellent organizational and communication skills with vendors, staff, members, and general public.

Physical Requirements

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

1. Must be able to travel to all region branch locations during staffing needs. 2. Ability to assist members with all MSR responsibilities. 3. High level of organization and multi tasking skills 4. Must have the ability to use problem solving skills to independently resolve challenges, utilizing all resources available.

Mental and/or Emotional Requirements

Must be able to perform job functions independently and with limited supervision. Must work effectively as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform basic financial calculations with accuracy. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of member service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under stress of deadline, requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on confidential matters.
