Certified Surgical Tech, First Assistant

Surgical assistants provide aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical functions that help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient. The surgical assistant performs these functions during the operation under the direct supervision of the surgeon and accordance with hospital policy and appropriate laws and regulations.

Education/Certification:

Successful completion of an accredited education program for Surgical Technology and surgical First Assistant

BLS Certification within 90-Days.

Certification as Surgical Technologist desired and Surgical First Assistant (CSFA).

Experience:

Previous Operating Room experience desired or demonstrated Operating Room technical ability.
