Description

Responsible for providing personalized guidance and support to patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team to create a seamless patient and family experience. Sets a positive first impression by greeting and assisting patients upon entering the Emergency Department.  Rounds daily on patients in the Emergency Department to include those in the waiting area.  Keeps all patients informed regarding wait times and current status in the department.  Supports the patient and clinical team during times of high volume and acuity, by repeating vitals signs for those patients experiencing longer wait times.  Collaborates with the healthcare team to coordinate service initiatives to positively impact patient satisfaction scores.  Provides point of service conflict resolution and involves staff members and providers when necessary. Provides timely follow up to patient needs and requests.   Keeps all patient information confidential.  Supports the organization Code of Conduct and the patient and family centered care methodology. 

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • High School Graduate 
  • Nurse Aide certificate or equivalent 
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Must obtain a Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification within six (6) months of hire and maintain certification yearly

Experience:

  • Customer service and hospital experience preferred
