Education/Certification:
State licensure as a registered professional nurse.
Graduation from an approved program of nurse anesthesia accredited by Council an Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor.
Certification by the Council on Certification or Recertification by the Council on Recertification or respective predecessors or if pending, initial certification evidence of graduation from approved nurse anesthesia education program.
In accordance with the requirements set forth by the Council on Recertification, each CRNA must complete a minimum of 60 class A credit hours and 40 hours of class B credit hours of continuing education every 4 years. There must be documentation of substantial engagement in the practice of anesthesia, consisting of a minimum of 850 hours of clinical practice over the two-year recertification period.
Must possess and maintain BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
Experience:
5 years of previous work experience is required.
There will be an orientation period (working with a CRNA) for all new employees. The length of time will depend on previous experience and clinical skills.
