Description

The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) is a registered professional nurse who has national certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner and is licensed as a Nurse Practitioner by the North Carolina Joint Board of Nursing and Medicare.  The NNP, in collaboration with a Neonatologist, perform patient management activities for an assigned group of neonates within established protocols.  In addition, indirect patient care responsibilities include role modeling, clinical consultation, and educator.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and completed an accredited certificate or Masters of Science in Nursing, Nurse Practitioner Program.

Certified as a NP by the ANCC or the AANP.

Must possess BLS certification through the American Heart Association

ACLS and PALS certification required within 6 months of employment.

 

Experience:

3-5 years of experience
