Junior Accountant - Finance

Are you passionate about finance and making a real difference in the nonprofit sector? EAC Network, a leading not-for-profit social service agency dedicated to helping over 79,000 people through 100 impactful programs across Long Island and NYC, is looking for a dedicated full time Junior Accountant to join the Finance department.

Salary: $28.47- 35.04/ hour

Schedule: Flexible schedule between the hours of 8AM-6PM, Monday- Friday

Location: Garden City, NY

Reports to: Accounting Manager

What drives the core purpose of this job:

The Junior Accountant is responsible for accounts receivable functions and for being the first-line agency liaison to EAC Network’s funders for assigned program contracts.  

What are the key responsibilities:

1. Accounts Receivable- creation and booking as assigned of certain predetermined claims (billing) associated with program contracts, including closeouts.
2. Tracking and reporting of program expenses against the contracted budget.
3. Assist with Finance department filing.
4. Perform all other relevant duties as determined by supervisor.

What key knowledge, skills, and abilities are required to excel in this role:

1. 3+ years of accounts receivable experience, preferably in a not-for-profit setting required.
2. Basic knowledge of accounting debits and credits.
3. Payroll processing experience a plus.
4. Possess good math skills, with an understanding of percentages and allocations.
5. Proficient with computer applications such as spreadsheets, databases, and Microsoft Office.
6. Possess good communication, organizational, and data entry skills.
