Junior Accountant (Accounts Receivable)
EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for 62,888 people in need through 100 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a Junior Accountant (Accounts Receivable) to work full time for the Finance department.
The Junior Accountant (Accounts Receivable) is an non-exempt position with an hourly salary of $27.37- 32.85. The office is located in Garden City, NY. The role reports to the Accounting Manager.

Primary Purpose of Job:
The Junior Accountant is responsible for accounts receivable functions and for being the first-line agency liaison to EAC Network’s funders for assigned program contracts.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable- creation and booking as assigned of certain predetermined claims (billing) associated with program contracts, including closeouts.
- Tracking and reporting of program expenses against the contracted budget as well as creating budgets.
- Verify and input all cash receipt deposits prepared for entry.
- Compare and verify all checks received and deposited on a weekly basis.
- Assist with Finance department filing, and audit preparation work.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- 1-3 years of accounts receivable experience, preferably in a not-for-profit setting required.
- Basic knowledge of accounting debits and credits.
- Possess good math skills, with an understanding of percentages and allocations.
- Proficient with computer applications such as spreadsheets, databases, and Microsoft Office.
- Possess good communication, organizational, and data entry skills.
- Be responsible and flexible.
