Intake Counselor (Bilingual)

 

EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for 62,888 people in need through 100 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a Full-Time Bilingual Intake Counselor for the Career Services Program.

The Intake Counselor (Bilingual) position is a non-exempt position paying $26.10 per hour at 35 hours per week. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8:45AM-4:45PM and the office is located in Hempstead, NY. The role reports to the Program Supervisor.

Primary Purpose of Job:

The Bilingual Intake Counselor assists the Career Counselors in administrative and clerical duties.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Manage paperwork and keep record of customers’ personal documents
  2. Ensure that all registration forms are properly signed and filed
  3. Appropriately handle customers’ personally identifiable information
  4. Answers inquiry calls and emails from prospective customers
  5. Perform data entry and related clerical work
  6. Attend staff webinars, workshops, and training
  7. Refer customers to partner agencies based on their individual needs

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

  1. High school diploma or educational equivalent required.  
  2. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) required.
  3. Minimum of two years of relevant work experience required; experience using the One-Stop Operating System (OSOS) preferred.
  4. Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  5. Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
