Visit Specialist
EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for over 62,888 people in need through 100 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a Visit Specialist to work part time for its Nassau Supervised Visitation Program.
The Visit Specialist position is a non-exempt position paying $16 per hour. The position is part time, up to 18 hours/ week, Tuesday and Thursday 4:30-8:30 and Saturday 8:30AM-2:30PM. The office is located in Hempstead, NY. The role reports to the Program Director.
Primary Purpose of Job:
The Visit Specialist is responsible for facilitating and supervising scheduled visitations for the Suffolk Supervised Visitation program in the office.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Be present during, and closely monitor, visitation sessions at all times.
- Conduct in office-based supervised visitation sessions.
- Report observations of sessions to Supervisor; document visits in case files.
- Ensure that Program policies and procedures are followed during the visit according to Conditions for Participation form.
- Testify in court, if a subpoena is served.
- Assist with childcare when necessary.
- Work evenings and weekends as required.
- Monitor cleanliness of visitation rooms.
- Attend scheduled staff meetings, conferences, and training.
- Review previous progress notes prior to each visit.
- Provide 24-48 hours notice if unable to work scheduled shift.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
- High School or educational equivalent required, degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years of relevant work experience preferred.
- Must have the ability to contain volatile emergency situations in office and immediately report to the Supervisor.
- Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets,
- Microsoft Office applications, calendar, and email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
